Today's post is short and simple. After two days of rain and a lack of light for taking pictures I have made do by posing the dolls on the buffet (again). They were supposed to have their photo op out in the fairy garden and on the front porch. Fifty mile an hour winds and downpours prevailed so indoor pictures will be fine.
The girls look like they are lined up for a chorus line, in fact I have been singing Life is a Cabaret since I set them up for the pictures this afternoon. I just look at them and I start singing.
I would like you to meet Becky and Tina, Becky is the oldest so she will go first. Becky has a pretty purple spider ear ring that goes very nicely with her costume.
Then there is pretty little Tina.
You have already met Little Jo.
Next is Kathleen and Maggie. First Kathleen models her purple Halloween costume.
Pretty Maggie has a spider ear ring like Becky's.
Kathleen and Maggie are sisters.
All of the clothing items on the dolls are hand made by me. I use a mix and match of pattern pieces for the most part. JoAnn's dolls are in costume too, you can find them HERE . Diane's lovely little doll Opal is ready to celebrate Halloween HERE.
Happy Halloween!!

Little Jo's Doll Party - Cindy gets a New Fall Jacket and skirt
Cindy Came to us from Ebay, she was adopted along with her older sister Becky. Both have been patiently waiting for clothes for school and most of all, a Halloween Costume. It seems there will be a Halloween party next week and all of the dolls want to go. Cindy is very quiet and undemanding, it would be easy to overlook her in the crowd of all of the others. We try to keep her in mind at all times because of this. Cindy had a pair of green polka dot pants and a colorful striped shirt made for her right away which we have not shared yet and she now has new shoes to wear about as we go out shopping. Cindy watched as we picked a pattern for her jacket.
Thanks to the generosity of a kind mother and her daughter for donating a bag full of doll clothes and shoes from an American Girl doll to Goodwill last week. Now all of my dolls have shoes. In addition to the seven pairs of shoes that were donated there were several AG outfits that will eventually go to one of our grand daughters.

We used a Simplicity Pattern. We copied the jacket pieces and reduced them to 90% of the original pattern size. We used this pattern to make the leggings too (at regular size).
Our fabric for the outer shell of the jacket was from a green cloth napkin bought at Marc's. The lining was cut from material included in a bag of fabric remnants from The Volunteers Of America.
We bought the bag of remnants on the last Tuesday of September at the monthly half price sale.
A tee, leggings and skirt were made to go with the jacket too.
The tee and leggings were cut from a tee-shirt bought from Marc's as a slightly imperfect shirt for $1.39.
The skirt was made from three different remnant pieces and a piece of remnant lace. The skirt did not come out as well as we would have liked and may go through a redo in the future.
Little Jo has not taken off her Halloween costume all week, she even wore it out to the pumpkin farm.
A few pictures from the Amish farms where we bought apples, pumpkins, and butter for the fall baking.
What a little ham!
A few more views of Cindy's new jacket.

Little Jo's Halloween Costume
This is the story of a doll family, an extended family which become one family from many. Little Jo is the newest member of our doll family. Little Jo was once loved and treasured by a little girl who started to grow up and no longer wanted to play with her dolls. The girls mother watched as her daughters interests changed from playing with dolls to playing soccer and going to swim meets, soon ballet lessons and horse back riding will be filling all of her time after school and no longer will her daughter want to keep her dolls. As luck would have it Little Jo was donated to the Goodwill store so that another child could have her to love. We found her there a few weeks ago and knew that she would be part of our family. She was a little dirty and her hair was a mess, her legs are loose and need repair but that does not matter, she will be loved and cared for once again.
Jo went straight to the kitchen sink and let her hair be washed and set in a plastic baggie of Downy and soaked for a day. After her hair was rinsed she hung upside down while her hair dried so that no water would get into her eyes.
After Jo's hair was dry her hair was set in rollers and perm rods to give her a curly look.
Her arms and legs were washed with anti-bacterial soap and her body was sprayed with a little anti-bacterial spray.
She smelled very fresh and pretty after her "bath".
Jo's doll cousin had her hair washed in the sink too. Her hair was set on larger rollers for bigger curls.

After a couple of days Jo's cousin's hair was completely straight.
Our adopted Grandmother made clothes for Little Jo and the rest of us. This week she made new undies in purple and white and a Halloween costume for Little Jo.
Isn't she cute?
